Classes offered

Classes specifically intended for home educated students are offered by museums, Y’s, art studios, zoos, kitchenware stores, sewing centers, wildlife rehab centers, and a wealth of other community resources.

E-cubed: Experience, Explore, Educate provides opportunities for teens to engage in group projects and activities, and for teen families to network for learning, social, and support activities. Based at the Plainsboro Preserve, in Middlesex County near Mercer and Monmouth Counties.

Fernbrook Farms Education Center offers classes in the various ecosystems of New Jersey, and the interconnectedness of humans and their environments. Fall 2009 includes “Stream Exploration”, Mammals of NJ”, “Fall Migration”. $80 per semester (8 classes), choice of Tuesdays, Wednesday, or Thursday classes. Registration form on Fernbrook website. For ages 6-11.

Berkeley Aquatic Club offers swim lessons for homeschoolers. Group sessions are seasonal – see their website for schedule. Competitive swim teams also available.
