This workshop is for experienced and novice mock trialers aged 13 & up. We will learn/refresh skills by analyzing a case and then conducting a mock trial of that case. In-person meetings will be from 10-2, Monday, Aug. 2nd, Wed. Aug. 4th, and Fri, Aug. 6th. The case will be chosen after registration closes (so I can gear it to the number of participants) , and will be released by July 31st. Participants are expected to do “homework”, including familiarizing themselves with the case before arriving on Aug. 2nd and communicating with team members to write/edit directs, crosses, etc.

Bring a bag lunch; snack will be provided. Location: West Windsor. Fee: $50.  Registration deadline: July 14th. This workshop will be limited to 12 participants.

The workshop will strive to meet the goals of Mock Trial as described in the NJ High School Mock Trial Competition Workbook:

The purpose of the High School Mock Trial Competition is to stimulate and encourage a deeper understanding and appreciation of the American legal system. This purpose is accomplished by giving students the opportunity to participate actively in the learning process. Education of high school students is the primary goal of the mock trial program. Healthy competition helps to achieve this goal. Other important objectives include: improving proficiency in speaking, listening, reading and reasoning skills; …providing an opportunity to compete in an academic setting; and promoting cooperation among students.

If you would like to register for the workshop, or if you have any questions, please email Barbara Rapaport at

Space is limited and participation is on a first-come, first-served basis.
