The official State site for NJ history has a multimedia kid’s section as well as a teachers’ section that includes additional materials. Unfortunately covers only a few items so far.

Free Homeschooling 101

Free Homeschooling 101 lists websites offering free materials, subject proficiency tests, videos, etc. Be aware that not all materials are of value. One American history curriculum, for instance, manages to teach about the succession of southern states to form the Confederate States of America without ever mentioning slavery.

Downloadable unit study outlines in the form of lists: resources (books, videos, music, websites), projects, spelling, vocabulary, cultural literacy, critical thinking challenges. Classroom-based but easily adapted for home education.

The What a Revolting Development, or, Porky’s Revenge unit uses Orwells’s Animal Farm and covers government and politics, economics, business and finance, algebra, propaganda, freedom of speech, literature.
